Combining Punches

Before I found and purchased my Martha Stewart doily heart border punch, I was in need of something "heart-y" for Valentine's Day projects, so I came up with this:

I used a Fiskars Threading Water punch and a Fiskars hand-held 1/4" heart punch like this:

First I punched the border along the length of my paper, so it looked like this:

then I took my heart punch and punched every other hole into a heart like this:

Sorry I didn't have time to make an actual project with my punched border - too much going on today - but there's an idea for you, anyway!  Try other combinations of border-and-hand-held (or just small) punches, or decorative-edge scissors and punches, too!
