Good Friday Morning To You! Here's what I wish for you today:
Stamps: Stampin'Up! Happy Everything; Ink: Versafine Onyx Black, Paper: Black, white; Accessories/tools: Cuttlebug w/floral fantasy embossing folder, ric rac, gingham ribbon, vintage black button, Treasured Memories pink floral button, embroidery thread
Are you tired of the black/white trend lately? Nah, me neither... Classics never get old, in my humble opinion. The challenge over on Splitcoast this morning was to use buttons and/or bows, so this card was pretty much a no-brainer, since I've been in that particular zone for a week now, anyway! A simple little card to brighten someone's day (they'll have to be local, though, since this card is a tad bulky for mailing).
Here's a pretty darned cool thing I need to share with you: One of the blogs I subscribe to is Ordinary Courage. I may have mentioned it before, because I love it A LOT! Brene Brown has a lot of very thought-provoking, very insightful things to say. One of the totally awesome things that she does is TGIF, her version. Instead of the usual way we think of this, she does Trust-Gratitude-Inspiration Friday. A perfect example is HERE, complete with a video we all need to see (and imitate)!
I also love her take on twinkle lights - they are a perfect metaphor for joy! Ah, me...these things are what I aspire to, and so easily lose track of in the daily-ness of my life! I'm grateful to bloggers like Brene and Marta Dansie and Danielle LaPorte and Susannah Conway who spend their days lifting up others and helping them to find more joy and validation in their time here in this mortal sphere.
One of my deepest longings in my heart of hearts is to be one of those women who spend their time giving of themselves and being inspirational to others. My absolute dream job would be to become a motivational speaker or to lead workshops or seminars on self-discovery or something along those lines. Stage fright is not really an issue with me, but what does hold me back is the undercurrent of doubt that I would have anything worthwhile to say. I'm rather of the opinion that until I get a handle on my own life and affairs, I have no business telling others how to go about it.
And so, the journey continues, and I watch and listen and learn and someday - someday - I will become what I'm striving to be! Baby steps...baby steps... With that thought in mind, today I am:
- TRUSTING that I am following the blueprint of my life, and that what I do and say and think and learn today is exactly where I am supposed to be at this point in it!
- GRATEFUL for those who shine their light to lead others out of the darkness and into joy
- INSPIRED by so many, many things around me every day - animals, people, trees, clouds (especially clouds!), things I come across to read or overhear, and on and on
